JOHN SWINNEY MSP VIEWS PROGRESS OF BUILDING WORKS AT BIRKS CINEMA


Local MSP and Minister for Finance and Sustainable Growth John Swinney today visited the Birks Cinema project to view progress on the complete refurbishment of the old cinema building in the centre of Aberfeldy.

New General Manager Appointed

The Birks Cinema is pleased to announce the appointment of a General Manager to run the new state-of-the-art cinema currently undergoing a complete refurbishment in the heart of Aberfeldy in Highland Perthshire.

Paul Foley hails originally from Glasgow, has a background in arts and has previously managed popular arts, music and catering venues, has a life-long love of cinema and is ‘incredibly excited’ at the prospect of getting the new cinema project up and running. Paul was selected from a very strong field of excellent candidates and the Board of The Birks Cinema is delighted to confirm his employment from 3rd December. As well as getting the business operation up and running, Paul is very enthusiastic about engaging with the community to make sure the cinema meets the needs and wishes of local people...more>

BIRKS CINEMA CAMPAIGN HITS THE TARGET

Local community group Friends of the Birks Cinema can today confirm that a major award has been made by the Big Lottery Fund to help create a modern state-of-the-art cinema in Aberfeldy in the heart of Highland Perthshire. The award is hugely significant because it not only achieves the group's fundraising target, but will also provide some revenue support over the first five years to give the project a substantial 'jump start'.
